How to check if android editText is empty ?

•    Add the following code to res/layout/activity_main.xml.

               Toast.makeText(MainActivity.this, "Empty
                  field not allowed!",
                  Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show();
            }else {
               Toast.makeText(MainActivity.this,
                  "Proceed..",

•     Add the following code to androidManifest.xml
