     Add the following code to res/layout/activity_main.xml.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
   xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
   android:layout_width="match_parent"
   android:layout_height="match_parent"
   android:orientation="vertical"
   tools:context=".MainActivity">

   <WebView
      android:id="@+id/webView"
      android:layout_width="match_parent"
      android:layout_height="match_parent"/>
</LinearLayout>
     Add the following code to src/MainActivity.java
import androidx.appcompat.app.AppCompatActivity;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.webkit.WebView;

public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
   @Override
   protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
      super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
      setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
      WebView webView = findViewById(R.id.webView);
      webView.loadUrl("file:///android_asset/mytext.html");
   }
}
     Create a new assets folder, right on the assets folder, create a new file (mytext.html) and add the following code −
<html>
<head></head>
<body>
   <h1> This html file is loaded from the assets folder </h1></br>
   <h2> Have a nice Day!</h2>
</body>
</html>

<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
   package="app.com.sample">
